What a weekend....

Things really started Thursday, with very heavy rain. The afternoon cleared up, so off i trot to school to pick up Tamika and by the time i left school it was teeming down again, 3 kids and no umbrella, Tamika had her raincoat luckily. I put Tahlia in my jumper with her head out my neck hole too and just told Jared to run. We were saturated!!!!

Power went out Friday afternoon till Saturday afternoon, them back off that evening till Monday afternoon. Nearly 72hrs we went without power accept for a few hours Saturday night. It was horrible, but i don't want to complain as our house is fine as we all are, so that's the main thing. The devastation has been incredible, we were blocked in the first morning with a tree covering the road, and just over the hill a tree has crushed a caravan in someones driveway. If there had been anyone in it, they wouldn't have had a chance. With all the trees above us here, we were so lucky! Water came up to our backdoor Sunday morning, but didn't come in. We lost some food, but that's nothing.

I did a few trips to my sisters for bathing, washing and hot meals, but that wasn't till Sunday when she got her power back. Ian worked 3 12 hr days, as most other techs had their own house problems, then a half day on his only day off yesterday and is now working till 8pm tonight. He is buggered!!!

The kids were pretty good considering. Poor Jared still doesn't get along to well with the dark so he woke a few times crying during the night. He was pretty excited last night when we told him that his fishy light would work ALL night. Tamika was suppose to sleep at my sisters Saturday night but got the tears and Ian ended up picking her up at 8.30pm at night. Not sure what that was all about, she has slept overe there regularly since she was 2, but she will be getting stern words next sleep over about being picked up.

One yuck thing that also came from the blackouts was i was getting headaches. I can only put it down to the low light levels and stress, but thankfully they are all gone today.
